However the one from M Motorworks doesn't seem to fit the Ti. __________________ "You want to know me? I didnt think it was adjustable at all, but I guess if you have an adjustable bushing , you can change the position of the mounting of the trailing arm, which will change the camber. Now that I think of it...could you have worn trailing arm bushings? That could throw stuff off. __________________ Vince Carknard 1995 318ti Active Hellrot, 16" 5 spoke, "Fogged" airbox mod, Stromung exhaust, Bilstein Sports, BMW sport springs, 3.73lsd, others... | | | 05-12-2005, 03:30 AM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2004 Location: Columbia, SC Posts: 528 | I have the same problem, but mine is 'cause I lowered the car. I heard the same about moving the trailing arms around. | | | 05-12-2005, 03:32 AM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2004 Location: Columbia, SC Posts: 528 | ****, something else to spend money on...damn, this car really is a Break My Wallet. | | | 05-12-2005, 03:42 AM | #7 | aka Stabby Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Mead, CO Posts: 5,336 | lol ... as far as i know, there are TWO ways to do it on our cars. eccentric trailing arm bushings (which is what bavauto has) and the way i'm doing it, eccentric trailing arm mounts which are welded to the subframe (separately adjustable camber and toe kits, $75 each but a LOT for labor - i'll let you know how much when it's done, lol). that kit from jcwhitney appears to be for the 318 and most likely not the ti. here are some articles to check out. the kmac (and other eccentric bushings) sound like a pain in the ass to get set the way you want since you're adjusting both at the same time (camber and toe). http://www.e30m3performance.com/inst..._sub/index.htm http://www.e30m3performance.com/tech...h/ecc_bush.htm __________________ 1996 318ti, California package, 267k miles current mods: bilstein sports, bavauto springs, e30 m3 LCABs, solid metal ball joints, bavauto RSMs w/reinforcements, e30 3.73 LSD & halfshafts, supersprint cat-back exhaust, turner rear sway bar reinforcements, IE poly subframe & RTABs + camber/toe kits, powdercoated e36 32x front calipers, sport mirrors, H&R 28mmF/19mmR sway bars, x-brace, auto solutions SSK w/poly bushing upgrade, BMW CD43 head unit, DICE HD Radio w/iPod integration and "stealth" HD antenna, staggered style 68s, orange electronic TPMS, leather arm rest, JT Designs metal undertray acquired and awaiting install: heated seat kit, cali top switch relo, lumbar support kit, park distance control kit, heated washer nozzle kit, m-coupe rear subframe, trailing arms, differential, and halfshafts, m-coupe front/rear brakes with master cylinder, under hood light kit, mud flaps, rear sun blind, auto-dimming rear view mirror, tilt steering wheel retrofit, apexcone 5000K HIDs with 55W ballasts 2002 X5 4.4 Sport Package, 53.5k miles Current Mods: e46 m3 steering wheel | | | 05-12-2005, 01:57 PM | #8 | Junior Member Join Date: May 2005 Location: mi Posts: 14 | good looking out I have real bad negative camber. So Im just concern about not having to buy 2 sets of tires every year. But I think I just wanna do the bushings does not have to be exact settings for me. With that said difficulty to install these bushings anyone? Bushings in general suck to install, but I think I can handle this. Thanks for your replies. | | | 05-12-2005, 01:59 PM | #9 | Junior Member Join Date: May 2005 Location: mi Posts: 14 | Bavauto Bavauto is charging 2x as much for theirs compared to Eibach or Intrax. Anyone has any experiences? Or where should I get the bushings from? Thanks. | | | 05-12-2005, 04:30 PM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Toronto Posts: 148 | I hope you guys realize that camber usually has very little to do with accelerated tire wear. Most of the wear is caused by too much toe. I have more than 2 degrees of negative chamber in the rear and been running on the same tires for almost 3 years (~20k miles, and auto-xing every 3-4 weeks). So ...check your rear toe first. Have done many tire rotations to try to stay ahead of wear but it's caught up to me. Before new tires want to get rear camber as close to spec as possibale. We are low about 3" all around. What ya all think? Be kind Thanks vwt3 __________________ 95ti Alpine White, K&N cone filter, Fullcoilovers by GroundControl Koni adjustable,Eibach springs. Yes, toe would be the more important factor. Camber less so. The eccentric bushings do not allow independent adjustment so it's a compromise. Hope that helps. __________________ '97 318ti Sport '88 M3 '98 VW Jetta GLX '87 VW Golf GTI ITB Race car | | | 05-14-2005, 01:08 AM | #14 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2005 Location: Michigan Posts: 169 | Thanks ChrisS, I've read that before, the e-30 must have the same set up as the Ti, not sure on the toe, but I need to get the rear more upright. Looks like it will need alot of fine tuneing of the ecentric bushings!! vwt3 __________________ 95ti Alpine White, K&N cone filter, Fullcoilovers by GroundControl Koni adjustable,Eibach springs.
