Default 1994 BMW 325is M-TECHNIC RARE MOTORSPORT PRODUCTION

NOTE: I have over 100 pictures available: http://www.inlacal.com/325ismtechnic

I want to be up-front about this fact: This 325is M-Technic has a salvage title...NOT because it was in a wreck. I purchased this car after it was salvaged by the insurance company (Mercury) due to the fact that the owner had cracked the oil pan and decided that driving the car without oil was (somehow) 'acceptable'. You will note, in the pictures below, I have taken pictures of the MATCHING VIN's. I also took any number of different angles/shots just so that you can see that this car has not been wrecked or in an accident. While the odo says 227k, Carfax says that there is (also) an odometer discrepancy. There is not. If you look at the Carfax you will note that the mileage is 129k on 2/2000 and then 39k on 6/2001 when it is reported again. On 2/2002 the mileage is 164k. Clearly someone left off the "1" in front of the 39k on 6/2001. Trust me, the mileage is consistent. In fact, I'll guarantee the mileage is consistent. With that said, it pains me to have to go to this length to refute Carfax. Carfax is a bureau which takes no responsibility for the accuracy of the information they purvey---I'd be happy to email you their disclaimer stating just this very fact. And while we are on that point, while the odometer might say 227k, the engine that I installed came from a 95 325i with 66,000 miles.

With all the disclosures aside, let's get down to it...It is a matter of record that there were merely 150 examples of the 325is //M-Technic produced. Otherwise known as OPTION CODE 0231 M-DESIGN PACKAGE on the report I received from BMW (you can email me for this). Bottom line: It is an e36 M3 minus the engine. Everything else (suspension, transmission, spoilers, etc) are the same found on the 95 M3. Subsequently, the S50 M3 engine could be retrofit into this car, quite easily, making it bona-fide e36 M3. The M-Technic also featured a limited slip differential, Motorsport Tri-Hurricane Cloth surrounded by black suede (which have surprisingly little wear) and the uber-rare BMW Motorsport door-handles that were only found on one other BMW that I'm aware of: The 850csi. As the pictures will suggest, this interior has held up quite well. Not so easy to make-out anymore is the //M-stitched steering wheel. The two piece BBS 17" wheels have also held up very well. The OBC, cruise (all accessories) work well. As for the options you get AC, cruise control, tilt steering wheel and power everything. One of the few modifications I've made were installing an e36 M3 muffler. When I purchased it, the only cosmetic discrepancy was that the header panel (which houses the kidney grills) was dented and I opted to replace it/update it to the 96 and later style grill set. The last upgrade I performed was the installation of Sony's newest MP3 head unit with remote control and auxiliary input. I did not alter the existing amp/speaker system or wiring. Lastly, I added a brand new set of BMW floormats just before these pictures were taken. I'm not stating this car is perfect nor am I selling it with a guarantee or warranty, but what I am saying is that you'd be hard pressed to find one taken so-well care of (save for the engine mishap). If the car has an achilles heel, it is the tires. While they aren't bald, they probably shouldn't last for more than 3,000 to 5,000 miles. This car leaks nothing in my driveway and runs like a car with a 66k motor should. While I'm not the original owner, I am a member of the BMW Club of NA. Apparently, one of its previous owners were a member of the BMW club, as evidenced by the sticker on the windshield. This is a piece of BMW Motorsport history. Only 150 examples were imported and it is difficult to say how many remain. Just one day ago, it passed California's smog check quite easily. If anyone interested, you can email me for the CARFAX REPORT. I've taken 120+ pictures because I realize that buying a car online or from a distance can be a leap of faith. To that end, if you have any questions, at all, feel free to contact me (Chris) directly at 818.613.1122.

I'm very sorry. That would help, wouldn't it? The first $7600 takes it.

Are you in the Los Angeles area?

If it's still available, I'd like to take a look.
