My wife just ALWAYS wanted a ti from the day I met her. She doesn't like the coupes, likes the sedan but the "cute stubby rear" of the ti is what she likes best. They are definitely styled to look sporty. Personally, I'd rather drive a nice '97 328i but even now that her ti is for sale, she's sad about it. Says it's the only car she ever really wanted (so I wonder why she drives the Mini daily!!!) Anyway, I personally love the styling of the 318ti but would have loved to have the option of the 323ti like the Europeans had...

I was set on a GTI when I passed on a deal. On a whim I autotrader'd the 318ti and saw one 2.5 hrs away in Pittsburgh with the cali top and low miles. Next day I drove a different ti base model locally to see if I liked the car in general and discovered this forum and how enthusiastic people were. Two days later I drove to Pittsburgh, fell in love with the top and put money down. Got the car the following weekend and drove home on top of the world hollering

Woohoolooketmeiminafreekinbimmer!!!!

The only thing possibly equal is a Saab Viggen or Mazda 3. WRX's still feel cheap.

ive always wanted a bmw...i specifically wanted the 325i...i looked in the papers forever for a bmw that wasnt costing too much...one day my friend told me about auto trader when i was playing ps2 at his house...i searched for bmw 3 series...and bam...that baby came up, saw the pic...told my pops, called the next day, went to see it the next weekend, weekend after that, my pops drove it home!

i used to not really care much about cars, but since ive been here, ive been busy learning as much as i can about my baby and thinking of cool things to do with it!

i love this car, totally kills a 325i in my opinion!

I wanted a BMW so bad so I got my 318i. It was my first car.
I think, a 318 is a good start for someone who loves BMWs. I love it.

Default Jetta gone

I had a '94 jetta glx (vr6 baby) but that got stolen down in sandiego so I was careless, and I was considering buying a 1.8t GTI but with money and not being able to get a co-sigh, I was left to search for another, until my cousin introduced me to TI's which I had never seen before, I liked it right away and thought it looked sexy and also kinda looked like a VW Corrado which are also cool. so I got my '95 for $5,000 and I have liked it ever since (besides the power) I wish it was faster, thats why im wishing to save enough money to put an M3 motor in It hopefully. and so yeah...

Default YES! I Wanted My ti!

I was having many problems with my '92 Corrado SLC VR6 in '96 and had been following the reviews of the ti since it was introduced in '95. The ti looked similar to the Corrado, which I liked, and I kept seeing a black ti in the area that I thought looked great. The reviews of the ti were all favorable and many compared it to the BMW 2002, a car I always liked and had driven several times. Two of my friends owned them and I had seen how well 2002's did on the track. Many reviews called it the new 2002. So, it was Feb. '96 and decided to test drive one, an active with Boston Green exterior and tan interior. I really liked it but wanted a Jet Black one with black interior, manual, sport package, limited slip differential, and sunroof. Many '95 ti's were still left in '96, decided to get a new '95 since I could get a great deal on one. The salesman, who still is at the dealership and whom I talk with when I'm there for parts, said he would search the area for the ti I wanted. It was pretty hard finding one with limited slip and the features I wanted. Well, he found the exact car I specified at a dealership in Illinois and I bought it for $6K and my Corrado without ever seeing the ti. The car was driven from Illinois to the local dealership, I was so happy when I first saw the car. I was really pleased the first time I drove it leaving the dealership. I think it is the best car purchase I have made in my life, and I have owned many cars. It has sold me on BMW, and will always own one. This is the most reliable and best handling car I've owned too. So, YES! I wanted my 1995 BMW 318ti sport.

I liked it because it was small. I honestly can't imagine driving anything bigger as a daily driver.

Default I looked for 2 1/2 months for my Ti.

I always drive used cars by choice. At First, before I researched the 318TI, I wanted either a Vibe, a 325i wagon, a volvo v40 wagon a 318i convertible or a Ranger pickup. I think the Ti is a great compromise on all of the above, at way lower cost. The others were priced well above 10k and closer to 20k. I paid 6800 for the ti. It's hard not to say it's the best car I've ever owned.
I was originally thinking towards replacing my Miata when I started looking for my bmw, and I am now thinking of keeping for sentimental reasons [and because I still love it so much, and besides, it's paid for].
