Default 1999 engine problems?

i've recently been looking at the 1999 bmw 318ti, and looking on autos.msn.com, it doesn't show anything about the 1999 3-series. does anyone have any other sites i could look up common problems with the engine at...or just the overall car?

i'm pretty much focussed on the TI, but i've also considered the 2002 Acura RSX, and 2000 Toyota Celica. i thought breifly about the 2000 VW GTI, but those have WAY too many problems then they're worth. i don't want to end up with a lemon, or something that's going to have problems coming out of the woodwork...so some background info would be much appreciated, or maybe personal experiences. [window motors, water pumps, etc...]

thanks!

I don't think you'll have any problems with a 99... first off it's the best year of all of them IMHO... it's most recent year you can get, plus it's fully loaded... sport aero, sport steering, side airbags... etc... Go for it.
