Hey guys, This is more for the guys that have systems in their car I.E amps that kind of thing. My battery died today and i had to buy another one... Its an optima battery with 750 cold cranking wattts or something like that. I paid like 180 for it i was wondering what kind of batteries you guys have, and how much you paid. I also have a capacitator in the trunk to help the wattage. I will be buying one soon & several people on here have them. Put another Blue Top in, and never run my system without tha car running and I have no problems. BTW my system is close to 2000W all together. __________________ _____________________________________________ Cold air, Dual Exhaust, Ellipsoid headlights, CCFL Angel Eyes, custom ICE, M3 wheels, Cobra Radar Detector, CF eyebrows, ACS CF gauge bezel, clear corners, Euro tail lights. Put a meter in your dash and you will never be without sound again. Adds some weight but it also balances a lil better as it goes in the hatch. __________________ I'm back with a different 95 ti | | | 05-13-2006, 06:46 PM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2005 Location: Thousand Oaks, California Posts: 343 | I thought about doing that, but i odnt have the time or the money to wire it into the back. That is the best way to do it but, this way has worked for atleast 5 years, and it went dead mostly because i occasionaly play it with out having the car on too. Which i have learnt not to do. __________________ 1993 325is Hellrot Tribute to: 97 318ti Montreal Blue R.I.P 96 318ti Schwartz II | | | 05-13-2006, 09:19 PM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2005 Location: England, UK Posts: 1,288 | i've got a bosch silver battery. Optima yellow tops are the favorites if you have a large current draw, although they are not actually meant to be used for starting engines, which is a job for a red top. If you had the money and space you could go for a red up front and a yellow in the back. What makes the yellows excellent for ICE is that you can drain them completedly without damaging them at all. Easiest thing to do if your worried about your battery is just to get a voltage meter. Stinger do an inexpensive item, or you can get one with a capacitor or just check the battery now and again with a multimeter | | | 05-18-2006, 12:24 AM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2006 Location: Norfolk, Virginia Posts: 289 | Quote: Originally Posted by ubiquity Optima yellow tops are the favorites if you have a large current draw, although they are not actually meant to be used for starting engines, which is a job for a red top. The RedTop is more geared for ICE applications, while the YellowTop is more of an engine battery. __________________ _____________________________________________ Cold air, Dual Exhaust, Ellipsoid headlights, CCFL Angel Eyes, custom ICE, M3 wheels, Cobra Radar Detector, CF eyebrows, ACS CF gauge bezel, clear corners, Euro tail lights. The RedTop is more geared for ICE applications, while the YellowTop is more of an engine battery. | The red top is designed for cranking power, especially good for stating engines. The yellow top is a deep cycle battery, so it can be fully discharged a number of times without damaging itself, therefore it is specially designed for running electrical accessories. | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
