Scan with a Peake reader, reset EWS code if that's it... I've never had this happen, just a guesstimation.

Might be worth leaving the battery off for while 15~20 mins, if your car audio has any power caps or secondary battery's take them off too.

I had a problem with my ignition lock about 2 years ago, but my problem was that I could not turn the car off but at the same time the key comes out. I had to get a new ignition lock.

Mine sure as hell was. If I remember correctly my BMW $tealer charged me about $700. Sorry bro, hope yours is more lenient on pricing.

mine spins backwards all the way out...

but if i spin it all the way in (from out) it's like 4 1/2 turns and then it clicks, then the key turns

i don't know if anyone else has this, but it's a great safety device.
not sure how i got it.. lady before me maybe

I like having a second key "just in case" so maybe this is a good time for you to invest in an extra key. The key will have to be ordered from the dealer and they'll require ID and proof that you own the car. Be forewarned that the key isn't cheap... mine was about $40.

I'm not convinced that your problem is a worn key because of the "beeper noise" you mentioned.

Be sure to post your current location in case someone knows of a good shop near you!

Default conclusion

hey,

well finally got everything all straight, had to wait a week and a half for the ignition cylinder to come in from germany. then cuase of how the old one was broken, needed to take apart the steering column to get it out. end up costing 600 with my local bmw tech. =/ oh well, they think some one had try to steal it with previous owner and damaged ignition cylinder in attempt.

thanks for advice.
