usually, only a couple minutes unless it's really cold out. of course, mine is usually in the garage too (not as cold). with a proper functioning thermostat, it shouldn't take too long for it to come up to temp. __________________ 1996 318ti, California package, 267k miles

Read the owner's manual. Warming up your car isn't recommended. It's the same with their motorcycles. Start it, drive it. __________________

I've been warming it up about 5 minutes if that right now,only cause it's 5 degrees outside when i leave in the morning. In the past the most i've warmed it up is 10 minutes. __________________ 98 Avus Blue 318 ti Active

Warming it up doesn't do much. The transmission will still be cold anyway. You really should take it easy until the oil temp is at operating temperture. Since we don't have a gauge I try to keep the revs below 3000 until the water temp is normal. __________________ ...steven

I always warm mine up about 15-20 minutes with the remote start. My car seems to act better when I warm her up. __________________

I just drive off cold unless Im scraping ice or snow off of it, in which case I let it warm while I clear it all off. __________________
