Not my first Beemer but it's been awhile...I've been stuck in the world of Subie/Evo 300 whp forums for the last 7 years. 3 Subies and the Evo X. Living in the Sierras the AWD comes in handy...and it's fun as hell. I was forced to sell the Evo to buy some land next to ours. Great car and easy to mod for big power. Sickest handling car I've driven. Over 1g on the skidpad stock!! I was well on my way to modding the sh*t out of it when the land deal came up. The ti is sweet though and I picked it up for 6k less than he was asking...schwing . I saw it on Ebay way back in January....couldn't believe it was still up for sale . It's the right color and modded perfecty to my taste. It's currently getting a full suspension/driveline overhaul and a trick LSD from Dan at Diffsonline. Gonna' be peach if it isn't already. The guy had well over 20k into it . Motor runs kitten smooth and has near OE compression + trans shifts better/easier then the new Evo (no kidding). Hard to believe with the mileage. Interior is plain and simple to die for any BMW freak. No tears for him though. He's got more nice cars than Leno and lives in a nice part of LaLa Land with a great business. A real together guy...nice guy. No doubt he has a super hot wife to go with all that | | | 06-10-2008, 07:11 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2005 Location: Quad Cities, Iowa Posts: 2,110 | You are not crazy, you just bought one of the most epic ti's ever! Congrats on the purchase and welcome to the site. __________________ "Drive Fast and Take Chances" | | | 06-10-2008, 07:21 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2008 Location: Nevada Posts: 259 | thanks for the welcome. I've posted a bit on Bimmers'...even though no one else seems to?. Funny thing is my girlfreind likes this car way better than the Evo X lol. She didn't even blink when I bought the Mits' but loved the little ti' right off the bat....schwing again hehe. That means more 'little head rides' for me woot | | | 06-10-2008, 07:37 AM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2005 Location: Quad Cities, Iowa Posts: 2,110 | Bimmers? You mean Bimmerforums.com? I post there a bunch but a lot of ti owners tend to avoid that site due to all the jerks and ti haters, our cars arnt very well accepted over there. __________________ "Drive Fast and Take Chances" | | | 06-10-2008, 08:05 AM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2008 Location: Nevada Posts: 259 | yep I got that vibe too. Seems the poor little ti' doesn't get a lot of respect over there. I had a chance to buy an M3...many in fact. They can have those. The ti' is a unique car in my eyes. I liked them when they came out even though my boss at the shop I was working at looked down on them. It's the light chassis that makes the car for me. That + more power = big fun I'll swap in an M3 motor and then we'll see who hauls the mail | | | 06-10-2008, 09:51 AM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2007 Location: LA, Bellflower, CA Posts: 3,613 | wow. $6k less than the asking price? Had to be the longest running ebay ad I've seen. I actually saw the ad the day before I flew down to Socal from Reno to buy the Lancer. Being a beemer guy first and foremost it caught my eye big time. I could see this guy had dropped his wad on the sweet bitch'. Too late for me though. I'd commited to the X. I paid a over 33k cash for the X. I robbed my nest egg and didn't want payments. It was crazy and stupid since I'm not rich whatsoever. Just a landscaper and a car freak. One day I woke up and realized the FAST as hell X was too much. Too much money, too much stiffness, (sh&tty Nevada roads), over the top styling and too much liability. Plus some dairy farmer was threatening to buy the small plot of land next to mine. Some stinkin dairy farm...no way. I sold it in 4 days on X forums . 19 year old from Tennessee. He flew out from Nashville...paid me 29 cash and drove that thing home in 3 days . I felt sorry for him since he had no real tunes so I loaned him my serious tuner for the trek. Plans? Well right now we are bringing the chassis back to life. It's stock and it's getting all new hard rubber (no poly) bushings + the driveline and suspension. It's going to be my designated hi way star. The official speed limit here is 75....it's really more like a cop approved 83 hehe. If you don't' have power and taller gears you suck. Semis go by you at anything under 80. I drive i80 every day so it's got to be sub sonic lol. My dream> an M3 motor/ Euro M3 6 spd. to go with the upcoming 3.15 LSD | | | 06-10-2008, 05:23 PM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2007 Location: Eugene Oregon Posts: 6,182 | it sure was a beautiful car!! __________________ -Josh Sold-1995 318ti, Club Sport, Hellrot Sold-1996 318ti, Active Model, Boston Green Current- 1995 318ti, sport model, schwartz | | | 06-10-2008, 07:05 PM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2008 Location: Nevada Posts: 259 | Quote: Originally Posted by thesk8nmidget it sure was a beautiful car!! | thanks skatinmidg'.still is a nice car lol. It stays covered in the garage. I just upgraded my insurance to comprehensive...just in case some f*khead decides he want's to steal it. It's in a good home with a faithful bmw person. Hell I can't argue with the gas mileage either. I was averaging under 20 with the Evo dammit. Premium is up to $4.15 in Nevada.
