Smile FS: M50 non-VANOS engine with trans

Hey guys. I have an M50 (NV) out of a 91 525i for sale in the south suburbs of chicago. Local pick up only. It is still in the car so the perspective buyer can hear it run. 181K miles on the odometer. I will also include the DME, wiring harness all the accessories that are mounted to the engine as well as the AFM, air box and the perfectly working transmission.

If you have any questions about it or want to see it for yourself, please post here or send me a PM. Price is 400 for everything, pretty firm.

Thanks Again.
David

EDIT: It is an automatic trans

Is the transmission a 5speed? and how hard would this be to put into a 95 318ti?

easy, but it depends on your mechanical skill level, as well as your choice of tools and place to work on it.

Other than that, use the search function and read about other people that have done it.

It's an automatic, Runs and drives in the car still so you can check it out. Somebody please take this, because I have had ALOT Of interest in engine parts, and I am on the fence about just parting out the engine and selling the trans. The e30 guys are already asking about the oil pan !!

Would the M50 bolt up to the stock 5speed in a ti or would you have to use the auto-transmission that you have with it?

I did some research on this, and if you are using the getrag 240,250or 260, it should bolt up using the m44 flywheel, and clutch.

These guys have the most comprehensive lists of things that can be used together. If I remember from my 318 days, this site has some good info on it too.
