While my wife has her 318ti and her 540it, she every once in awhile reminds me we have too many cars, particularly BMWs. She does like tho that she has her pick of any of them... I may have maybe one or two too many, but I wonder what you all may hear in your house. __________________ 1998 318ti Sport - "Cali" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, Cali top 1998 318ti Sport - "Max" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, S52 1997 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior 1995 318ti Active - "Blanca" Alpineweib III/Schwartz leather interior Other Current Bimmers: 2006 530i / 2000 2.3L Z3 / 1997 1.9L Z3 / 1999 540it 1997 318ti Sport - "Huera" - RIP 1995 318ti Active - RIP 1995 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Sold 1994 325i Sedan - "Jade" - Sold 1991 318ic - "Bert" - Sold 1985 635csi sold 1984 533i "Max" Sold 1984 318i sold BMWCCA #160411 SUPPORT 318ti.org! I keep threatening her that I found another TI on CL and I'm trying to buy it and she keeps threatening me that she will kill me if I get it. ...Not sure who is serious. Haven't tested it, yet. She has the upper hand for now, always brings up the imperfections with my current TI. | | | 03-01-2015, 03:18 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2007 Location: SW Florida Posts: 4,275 | My wife loves our 3 BMW's. She has brought up the topic of my need for a new work vehicle. She thinks I need an e46 wagon or X1. So, I am a lucky guy I suppose. I never get my balls broken on this subject. __________________ Sean 1995 Active | | | 03-01-2015, 02:15 PM | #4 | That's not Millpoint Blue Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: BNA Posts: 3,161 | I'm not married... so... She loves her X5 and driving the 1600 in the summer. However she cant understand why I keep the 318 in the garage all winter and park my daily driver (325Ci) outside in the cold and snow. (She doesn't like the fact that is our autocross car and it has the California Roof and I treat it like a baby all winter long!) In my opinion, You can NEVER have enough! | | | 03-02-2015, 02:41 PM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2015 Location: NYC Queens Posts: 225 | i've had two cars for as long as i can remember. Always one for work and one for the weekends to cruise around in. Currently i daily a 96 5-speed 2dr RAV which i bought for the clearance for winters here in NYC. It was too good of a deal to pass up and perfect for my needs. Then i drive a 91 Miata on the weekends when the weather is decent/nice. hopefully in two weeks i'll be bringing home a lovely 318ti from hotmilk400. Of course my lady didn't even want to hear it because to her by me getting a third car means i don't have my priorities straight and so we argued and bickered but it was nothing a night of wining and dining couldn't fix. I convinced her i don't want to daily the RAV everyday during the spring and summer because i only bought it for the snow/winter. So in January i began scouring the interwebs for a second daily to divide the driving up during the week which brings me here! Does a second daily makes sense to you guys and why? It certainly does to me. But I can't seem to get rid of any of them either. They are all interesting projects that I'd like to see further along (or dare i say, finished). 97 ti, 98 Z3, toyota tacoma dd, and my wifes subaru crosstrek. (Not to mention the 3 ducati's, in various stages of "apart" in the garage). If all goes well, by spring, I could literally drive a different vehicle every day of the week. I am sure it is some mild, non-problematic version of hoarding. | | | 03-02-2015, 04:11 PM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2012 Location: Sacramento, CA Posts: 2,451 | Ya, I claim we have 2 cars per person, (Wife, son and I) but I have to note that the Van and the Convertible are Dogmobiles and belong by use to my Rottweiler and Chow/Husky to get away with that claim. It has gotten better since my wife got her TI which she loves over a 540it, but every once in awhile the conversation comes up. __________________ 1998 318ti Sport - "Cali" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, Cali top 1998 318ti Sport - "Max" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, S52 1997 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior 1995 318ti Active - "Blanca" Alpineweib III/Schwartz leather interior Other Current Bimmers: 2006 530i / 2000 2.3L Z3 / 1997 1.9L Z3 / 1999 540it 1997 318ti Sport - "Huera" - RIP 1995 318ti Active - RIP 1995 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Sold 1994 325i Sedan - "Jade" - Sold 1991 318ic - "Bert" - Sold 1985 635csi sold 1984 533i "Max" Sold 1984 318i sold BMWCCA #160411 SUPPORT 318ti.org! I've had mine for 2 years now and all my Miata buddies are telling me to autox at least once. I'm like.... nah. If i cared to do so i would've done it bone stock and then after all the mods buuuuut maybe one day. 6'3" huh? Hmmm my buddy is 6'4" and fits in his smurf blue Miata just fine. Then again he did some foamectomy to his seat. P.S. i just realized your name is James too?
