(I have to; I'm a space cadet; I grew up on Star Trek!) I replaced the front kick-panel speakers with ones that don't make Darth Vader noises when I push in and release the cones. Removing that panel is actually easier than it looks. I replaced the back speakers too, but I don't like the results so I'm going to do it differently. The back tweets are blown so I will be looking for replacements. Addendum... I redid the way I mounted the back woofies. Mister Dremel on the original tubey thing made room for the speaker's mounting tabs, and a lot of hot-melt glue fastened them in place and sealed them up (as much as they can be on that plastic thing). The 4" full-rage speakers I put in make very little high-frequency sound and the original tweeters had no filter capacitors, so I'm sure there's a crossover in the built-in wiring harness. That would explain that. So I do need to put some new tweeters in fr the back. I haven't seen to many of those, so I don't really know... I changed the valve cover gasket on the Boston Green car, and I failed pretty hard at trying to chemical strip the old flaking gold paint off it, still looks better black, but its far from perfect. At least the huge flakes of gold paint aren't going to get into my spark plug tube holes anymore... Still need to do front shocks on the green car, and bleed the brakes and change the belt on the red car to get it ready for my HPDE this weekend at infineon! I also need to get a helmet still... __________________ 96 Schwartz II 318ti M-Sport with M44 *SOLD* 95 Hellrot Red 318ti with S52 Swap (Mine) 94 Boston Green 325i Saloon with M50TU (Hers) 68 White VW Bus Camper (Parts Bus) 71 Pink VW Bus Westfalia (The fixer upper) Last edited by kuleinc; 06-27-2011 at 02:09 AM. | | | 06-27-2011, 02:16 AM | #1526 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2009 Location: Maryland Posts: 265 | one subframe bushing out, one to go! __________________ Quote: Originally Posted by bubela I’m happy in my blissful ignorant euphoria!
