If it does plug in, there wont be any gains from it and it might not produce the correct dynamics for the DME to properly produce ignition and fuel mapping based on teh air flow and density. __________________ 1995 Hellrot Clubsport 318ti -Gone 1996 Schwartz II Sport 357ti - 5.7L V8 LS1/6 1997 Moregrun Metallic 318ti - Gone 1998 Schwartz II sport 318ti - M50TUB25/5 | | | 11-05-2009, 04:49 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2005 Location: Portland Or Posts: 2,666 | From all the data I've read, and the engines I've played with there is no way on a normally aspirated engine its worth doing the swap, that fancy little Bosche door just does not impact air flow much. Everyone I've run across who actually dynoed before and after was unable to prove it helped to switch from meter to MAF. (Assuming thats what your doing) Now on a turbo engine or a really high strung Individual throttle body motor, you can find a couple HP. or a Real high volume turbo motor... M42 and stated he can't fit the old style in but can fit in a M3 MAF. Anyone know how to convert M3 MAF or does he just use the M44 MAF? I have no clue on this and no tuning to help him | | | 11-05-2009, 11:05 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2006 Location: 43609 Posts: 3,425 | Posting actual information, rather than a vague "will this work" will yield much better results. Go on the E30 sites and forum on bf.c and see what they run. Also, doesnt NickG have mafs or something for the larger conversion when overboosting the Dasc? __________________ 1995 Hellrot Clubsport 318ti -Gone 1996 Schwartz II Sport 357ti - 5.7L V8 LS1/6 1997 Moregrun Metallic 318ti - Gone 1998 Schwartz II sport 318ti - M50TUB25/5 | | | 11-06-2009, 12:30 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2007 Location: Gulfport, Florida Posts: 3,208 | Quote: Originally Posted by Bluebimma Posting actual information, rather than a vague "will this work" will yield much better results. He just drops in a M3 MAF and changes the tables in the OBDII HEX. This car is OBDI old style flapper door MAF and he wants to convert to Hot Film MAF | | | 11-07-2009, 06:16 AM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2009 Location: maryland Posts: 127 | the guy at the shop says AA has a converter box its on his car which is s/c e46 idk if itll work on my car we'll find out in 18 hours he said hell be done saturday fingers crossed | | | 11-07-2009, 07:51 AM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2005 Location: Portland Or Posts: 2,666 | Isn't that what teh "WarChip" guys do? I heard they had to cut your frame too? I'm interested to see the final product. Can you get under it with a camera when it's on the lift and all angles on top?
