Default General Repair Help

So, I was in what I thought was a minor fender bender the other day, but it has turned out to be major as my suspension is ruined as is my alignment as is my steering rod. The quote I've gotten from the repair shop is $4000. (I have a 1996 318ti automatic). I'm wondering if there are places I can get this work done for less. Should I buy the parts used from somewhere else and bring them to the repair shop? Or should I give up the vehicle all together?

Are you talking about the tie rod? Whats wrong with the the suspension? An alignment only costs about 60-150 depending on where you go. A new tie rod is 53.79 for the right side and 55.79 for the left on Rockauto.com. As far as installing a tie rod, i dont know how hard it is, but couldnt be that bad.

oh, it's not just the alignment. they're fixing the right strut tower, and replacing the right front tire, wheel, suspension splash shield, wheel hub, steering knuckle, strut, control arm assembly.
