Default Ignition barrel rejecting key

I bought a new Ignition Barrel today from the dealership and all was well, i checked that my key worked and after along time got the old barrel out. I then put in the new barrel everything seemed great. then i took the key out, and now i cant put it back in. If you look inside where the key goes, it seems there a small piece of black metal stopping the key from entering the barrel.

Im not sure how or why this happend and i cant find any information on this anywhere.

Is this a faulty barrel?

Any suggestions would be welcomed.

I found out that the barrel was put in on a slight angle so it wont allow the key to enter. Now im having difficulty figuring out how to get the ignition barrel out without breaking the barrel, so i can put it back in and correct this.

You cant put a paper clip through the little hole because you need to car to be on ignition, but seems the barrel cant turn im out of ideas how to do this without destroying the barrel

Any ideas?
