They look fantastic but unfortunately I believe the quality of the ride has suffered. I now want to suck up this decision and return to the original wheel spec. Does anyone know where I can get the specific info for those wheels. I'm pretty sure they were 7.5 x 15. If I find wheels with that spec, what about the offset of the 5 lug nut holes? Is there a measurement out there so I can compare with similar wheels? | | | 08-19-2014, 11:46 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Elizabeth City, NC Posts: 3,877 | The originals are BMW Style 18, 15x7" with an offset of ET47. There was also a 16x7" version that came on sport model 318tis. That might be a decent compromise between the 15 and 17" M wheels. http://felgenkatalog.auto-treff.com/?felge=180 __________________ ~Dave~ 98 328ti Morea Grun slicktop 11 128i space gray slicktop 13 JGC WK2 Deep Cherry Search | RealOEM | | | 08-20-2014, 05:52 PM | #3 | Member Join Date: Aug 2009 Location: Austin, TX. It's from a 3 series e46 it seems. http://austin.craigslist.org/pts/4606429561.html Based on that website I would need an offset of ET46. I'm also not clear on what thickness of tire I should use on my 318ti, but I'll look at the tire info sticker on the door jam to see if anything is listed. | | | 08-20-2014, 06:58 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Elizabeth City, NC Posts: 3,877 | The offset isn't set in stone, anything from ET40 to ET47 is going to be fine. The higher the offset number the farther in the wheels will sit. Stock 15" tire size is typically 205/60-15. When you start trying to fit wide rubber on the car it becomes crucial to know the offset and clearances inboard and outboard of the wheel. __________________ ~Dave~ 98 328ti Morea Grun slicktop 11 128i space gray slicktop 13 JGC WK2 Deep Cherry Search | RealOEM | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
