I overfill slightly. That didn't cure it. Thought it might be a cracked oil suction tube. Replaced that. Still flickers on left handers. Next I'm going with a baffle in the oil pan. But today at a light my oil light started to flicker at idle Rev it up, light off. Checked oil level, it's fine. So 2 things left. Oil pump or oil sender unit. Sender will be next. Any other suggestions? __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 07-13-2013, 10:17 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2012 Location: Sacramento, CA Posts: 2,451 | Hi Steven! We all get old,, growing up is optional... But first I'm going to swap out the oil pressure sensor. Also picking up a blank for the radio and may install a oil pressure gauge. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 07-17-2013, 06:01 AM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2005 Location: Portland Or Posts: 2,666 | I've dropped a pan and just replaced the mains and rods in the car.. Used to call it a 50 dollar rebuild. (Of course Chevy V8 bearings are cheap) ,,, and the pan is easier to get off the engine in the car. But it will pick the oil pressure up.. Never tried it on a Bimmer..
