Tint is regulated by the state. Lights are Federal.

my bulbs are amber and tinted silver

white turnsignals are obnoxious anyway.. get the silverstars so they look clear but light up amber.

Supposedly I also read that if you apply a VERY LIGHT coat of silver paint to amber bulbs.. they will still light up amber, but look clear when off.

I not only have clear corners but I have blue bulbs inside and I have never been pulled over. I believe here in MASS the cops doesn't care about them. But don't forget that there are some strict cops on the road

bavarian auto offers so-called "stealth" bulbs that flash amber, but they are clear or invisible when off. Not really sure how much they are or if they are even worth it for that fact.

Its not necessarily the cost of the ticket you should worry about. Its perfectly within the law for them to impound your car because it doesn't meet DOT standards. Not likely but they can do it. Ever seen a impound bill with a 100 mile tow charge,,, 200 dollar impound fee plus 10 bucks a mile... Then to add to the fun the vehicle must be towed to the liscensed shop to perform the repair, a bond is required to get it released from impound and you have to bring it back to show them the repair to get your bond back.

I had a friend with Illegally tinted windows.... It was ugly, but he was a dumb a** when the cop noted the tint. Rule of thumb ,,, Be polite and respectful to the officer even if you want to pee on his foot.

I have to agree with some other people on this one. If you are going to have clear corners then "YES" the bulb needs to blink and burn "AMBER" color for it to be 100% legal. But in the day time the sun reflecting off the amber bulbs makes the clear corners not look as good. So to fix that promblem everyone who has clear corners needs to order some SILVERSTAR BULBS or any kind bulb that is CHROME coated but still blinks and burns amber. Trust me and go on EBAY because they sell these bulbs on there cheap for 15 a pair and they have them for every bulb that is on the BMW.

this is what IL says about clears

turn signal device which shall indicate the intention of the

flashing lights located at and showing to the front and rear of
the vehicle on the side of the vehicle toward which the turn is
to be made. The lamps showing to the front shall be mounted on
the same level and as widely spaced laterally as practicable
and, when signaling, shall emit a white or amber light, or any
