Default 318ti M50 Swap Clutch options??

Just picked up a 1995 318ti Manual, with a busted headgasket. That means M50! Good thing I have an early 325is. Now, my question is: what am I to do for clutch/flywheel. I've seen some info on the forums saying some things about clutches and flywheels but can't find what I'm looking for. The donor car is an auto so therefore does not have a manual flywheel and clutch. Is it possible to use the stock 318ti clutch on an M50, with the stock gearbox? Or do I need to change to a 325is clutch and flywheel? Thanks guys.

You can use the gearbox from the 318ti on the M50. I don't see why the 318ti clutch wouldn't work for the M50 except that it is smaller than what would have come on a manual transmission 325is. I'd probably go for a new 325is clutch and flywheel just to know that stuff is new and won't need replacing again.

i did this about 4 years ago and used the 316i clutch, flywheel and gearbox. it was in a rally car for a while and has been used in auto tests, auto-solos, hill climbs, sprints always starting in second gear and being totally abused. The clutch started slipping and i replaced it last week for another 316i clutch as i was really impressed that it lasted so long. The 316i clutch is the same as the 318ti clutch so i would keep what you have. don't forget to take the bearing out the end of the manual crank and fit it in the auto crank as it won't have one.
if you are interested this is one i did a few weeks ago (fitting a 328i using the 318ti clutch and flywheel)
