Default M-Technik Door Moldings

Hey i was wondering if anyone had encountered any problem with those neat ///M moldings on the doors. the driver's side one on my TI just wont stay in place. this was a problem for the previous owner and he gave me some plactic braces that the sed he had to replace every so often. i was wondering if there was a permanent solution to this nagging problem. to further illustrate it looks like the nipple that lines up with the hole on the door is quite weak and doesnt not stay in the hole at all. any help is apreciated and welcome.

Replace the braces (we call them clips). Use the rubber grommet from the old one to prevent water going in. If missing, this is what's causing the fitment issue as they add about 2mm of material to fill the hole.

They shouldn't have to be replaced often, or at all really.
