How good of a mod is performance coils? is it worth it?

Factory coil is more than adequate.

If your asking for the m42/44 engines then there are no performance coils, there are ignition wires made by magnecor. For the 6 cylinders they have the bavauto coils which I have heard good and bad about. You are just looking at better spark firing/gas mileage.

Magnecor KV86 wires are excellent, I have these for my S14 engine. These made a good improvement over my old wires....Yes Old who knows how old. So any improvement and less than factory wires is a positive improvement.
