The 318ti called "rare"

I was over getting my 318ti window frame (interior on passenger and driver side) upholstered when the owner of the shop stopped to talk to the guy doing the upholostery. He said "wow, now there's a rare car."

It was pretty nice hearing that considering I was contemplating selling my 1996 318ti.

As a footnote, I was told that once the 318 series hit over 100K the top upholostery starts to come down. I don't know how true that is but I did notice mine has a "fist size" circle starting to bubble. Nothing to worry about but since the window frame portion came loose (real bad) I had to have them done.

Just thought I'd share that with everyone. Its really nice to know we are driving really sporty BMW's that keep up their exterior unique style.

I was asked if I had bought a "new" car recently and I said "no, its a 96" and the neighbor said "wow, it looks more recent then that!"

Congrats fellow 318ti owners. They really are keepers.
