Have you considered something like this to multiply the vehicle speed signal by close to five times? I believe the DME uses the ABS wheel speed signal to detect rough road that could masquerade as misfires. You may have to go to that 48 tooth spider if the differential's 9 is too coarse.

That looks like it would be much easier to install

It probably would be, but will it work?

I was thinking the signal converter you suggested would be much easier than my hair-brained idea of making a Mercedes wheel sensor work. I'm not even sure if it's necessary at this point. I will keep an eye out for fault codes tho.

Unless money is tight, I think it would be worth a try. Perhaps you could talk to Dakota Digital about your application. They have a wide product range and could help find the best match.

One thing I am wondering about with their unit are the screw terminals. They are not something I would put in a moving vehicle, but then I once had an unfortunate experience with them working as a young engineer.

I have a new question. With the larger cams I'm running, the engine goes a bit lean on the top end. I'm not using a wideband just yet but the o2 voltage starts to fall to around 600mV from 5k up. Since I want everything to be dead-on before I get a tune, I was watching the data stream during a pull. At WOT I'm only seeing 67% throttle position with my e30 sensor. I swapped in the spare Ti sensor and it read 60% at WOT. What's interesting is that bothe sensors can go to 100% when turned by a screwdriver. The 60's seems low but it does go into open loop at WOT like it should so it may just be normal. The tb looks mechanically sound. And I just had a thought to hang the m44 tb and try that, but the throttle plate movement should be the same. Anyone experience this or look at their thottle position at WOT? It does read 0% at idle too.
