(I mean, the entire thing is removed from the car, but I can get under the sunroof) also, I cant removed the pipes coming out of the sunroof (I don’t think im suppose to anyway,) but I had epoxid them into there spot because before they had poped out and when I openbed the roof, the internal cables would go everywhere and the roof wouldn’t move.. so.. can anyone help me out? not only is this giving me a problem, but the headliner needs to be replaced , the inspection is coming up, the check engine light is on for no reason (says fuel injecter 3 is open? But it works fine) the bumper is smashed, and the stuff under the radiator needs to be replaced.. the side door is smashed and the window wont go up/down. the AC is broken.. and… the speakers just broke (the $400 sub, and the $100 15 inch PA speaker) … ANYONE WANNA BUY THIS CAR for $1500?? Or trade??? Its only got 118,000 miles =] stick.. haha.. You should have not force it. But the fun part of your post is you are selling it while needing a repair. How can you sell it with those kind of problem. lol... But its true the clip is the answer. I think the plastic clips just broke or got stuck. _________________ Good catalytic converter will boost performance. | | | 10-24-2008, 02:21 AM | #5 | Junior Member Join Date: Mar 2007 Location: northern va Posts: 28 | Bmw really shouldve used metal pieces or something besides plastic clips. lol. I have to raise my windows to close the door to keep the windows from popping out of their track. Also just fyi i think the pipes coming from the sunroof are for water drainage so don't remove them. lol | | | 10-24-2008, 03:32 AM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2008 Location: Bethlehem, PA Posts: 1,106 | haha.. my car and i are in a love/hate relationship. i love it, but it hates me. haha.. well.. i forced the sunroof closed, and it seems to be working fine for now. your right, i should rebuild the entire thing buying new clips, but really, that entire sunroof apparatus needs to be replaced. the 4 metal pipes in the front are literally held into the plastic sunroof by epoxy.. the headliner is STILL not replaced, because i got sick of doing it the 2nd time, and my friend never got around to doing it.... the list of broken things on my car is longer then the list of working things.. haha.. so i will just drive that car into the ground.. its not worth trying to fix up, mostly now because of a few unknown issues that will probably end up being major issues in a few years.. i wouldn't sell the car unless i gave the next person the list of issues.. haha.. yeah.. honeslty, the sunroof is the least of my issues.. i could care less if it works well compared to the motor, which has a check engine light on. or the smashed up front end, bent right armature (control arm), oil on my sparkplugs, the constant cat. converter efficiency codes (the biggest problem right now, since it wont pass inspection) the missing rear trunk panels (i have them, but never finished them), the missing headliner, where wires hang directly in your face. the drivers seat is rusted into spot. I JUST fixed my diver side window, but the interiour panel is all out of shape and messed up.. omg.. i wont waste your time with the rest.. haha.. .. i will just keep it till it dies, then part it out .. haha.. not worried about fixing it. | | | 10-24-2008, 10:04 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2008 Location: Austin Posts: 3,059 | Someone needs to write up a guide on this issue. My sun roof works fine. But I can feel it's about to go out. And the head liner on the sun roof is slowly coming off, which is why I've stopped messing with it. Mallard, think you can help us with a guide? __________________ Come get a ti-shirt Quote: From the e30 M3, evolved the e36.
