I am going to be checking out a black 1995 318ti tomorrow, local dealer, 124,000 miles. Asking 4,995. Never actually owned a bmw (yet) but the 318ti is by far my favorite. A little research taught me that there was a recall for the variable speed control (cruise and throttle problem). I was wondering if anyone had an opinion about the price; too high? I figure if it went in to get the problem fixed, this is not a bad deal. Any opinions? | | | 02-17-2011, 09:53 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2008 Location: Denver, Colorado Posts: 255 | Is it this one? If so looks pretty clean in the photos. Craigslist ad Dealer Ad Prices vary across the country, but for a Dealer price of 5k, it is slightly on the upper end of the price scale IMO, but then again it is a dealer price. For 5k I would expect really super clean condition and all the maintenance is up to date (especially cooling system). Condition is everything. Slightly curious why only the right headlight assembly was replaced, Rock hit? Accident? __________________ (00=[][]=00) _______________ ________ Steve Still looking for a monthy driver 1988 M3 parked 1967 2000cs parked | | | 02-17-2011, 03:37 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2006 Location: SOUTH Jersey Posts: 1,085 | just one thing to remember... The magazine Bimmer pointed this out a couple of years ago.. out of all the E36s.. the 318ti is holding it's value more so than all the other varients. | | | 02-17-2011, 11:21 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2006 Location: Westfield, IN Posts: 1,335 | Quote: Originally Posted by Mad-Machine just one thing to remember... (Assuming its in a salt road zone..?) Nice car, my 1995 in black has held up well, at 180K miles and no issues. Good luck! | | | 02-25-2011, 04:22 PM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2008 Location: South Central, MN Posts: 1,065 | My opinion... I live 80 miles south of where it is. Hopefully this wednesday I will be test driving it. | | | 03-07-2011, 03:29 AM | #13 | Junior Member Join Date: Mar 2011 Location: Northern Wisconsin Posts: 21 | I was going to look at this 318ti also, instead I'll be flying to the Chicago area to look at two. | | | 03-07-2011, 03:51 AM | #14 | Junior Member Join Date: Feb 2011 Location: Minnesota Posts: 14 | I was looking at saw there were two in Chicago and one in MO that I liked, but i really want this one. | | | 03-07-2011, 03:55 AM | #15 | Junior Member Join Date: Mar 2011 Location: Northern Wisconsin Posts: 21 | Good luck on your find!!! | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
