Default Transmission help

I i am new to this forum. I have a 95 ti and was wondering if anyone had taken apart the transmission. The syncro on first gear is busted and was wondering if anyone had any experience on this subject. If anyone could refer me to any diagram of the transmission that would be helpful too. Any help is welcome. Thanks in advance.

try http://www.realoem.com/bmw

you'll need the last 7 digits of your VIN. once you're in, go to the manual transmission, they have a breakdown of the internals there.

i do believe there are some people on here who have delved into the internals but not many. anyone know who has? the best thing would probably be to PM them if we can figure out who they are.

In the past I've simply replaced the offending transmision with another ued piece. This way I can dissassemble and work on the busted one at my leisure, order parts (after figuring out EXACTLY what's wrong) and still make it to work on time.

Once the original unit is repaired, swap it back in, or wait for the back-up to fail and THEN put the re-built unit in. If you have space, either re-build the second unit and store as a spare or just sell it for repair or core.

seems like a hassle, but my time is more valuable to me, and I don't like to waste it with my car on stands...
