Default Mini Cooper Supercharger.

I was looking at the Mini Cooper S and noticed that it was supercharged. Then thought about my car and thought why not. The cooper is a 1.6 so the engine size is close and its a BMW engine. I was wondering how difficult it would be to adapt this to our car. Has anyone done it? Is it possible?

The Mini uses a m45 supercharger which is too small for the m42 or m44. You need to use m62.

Look at the Downing Atlanta Supercharger if you want to supercharger your car. It's the only option right now and it works well as everyone that has one will tell you.

Very different. The Cooper is more like a go kart. I still prefer rear wheel drive.

I believe the motor is a joint venture with Chrysler and Rover.

I drove my boss' Cooper S last summer (Diplomatic plates make you feel invincible) and I agree fully.

With the ti you need to do a bit more setup / initiation on turns, but with the Cooper S you can just kind of point it and floor it. FWD will always feel weird to me.

FWD is odd. The rear starts to slide, more gas and the rear tucks in.
Or less gas, the rear tucks in. FWD is very forgiving.

The MINI Cooper and Cooper S motors are from Daimler Chrysler. The newer MINIs will be using an all alloy I believe motor designed jointly by Peugeot/Citroen and BMW. The motor is supposedly going to be built by BMW in England and they are supposed to be direct injection 4 cylinders. As for using the supercharger off of the MINI Dusten is right it is too small. The new MINI engines are supposedly going to be turbo units but I havent really looked into this much. Either way after driving the Cooper S I have to agree FWD is really forgiving and also the way the MINI handles can only really be described as like a go kart, just a big go kart. But the interior on the MINI in my opinion is a little sub par for the prices that they go for, again just my opinion any comments?

I don't care of the build quality. Our interior is too light. I just don't see getting 200K miles out of this car. But it is fun and people treat it very well on the street. People still come up to us to ask questions. Cars will sometimes give us the right of way. That never happens in a BMW.

It's possible to use it only with a Right Hand Drive car because they have the brake master cilinder in the other side of the car. On our cars we can use a M62 for the mercedes kompressor, that is shorter than m45. I was fitting one on my car, but there isn't enought space with the original manifold with disa...
