Default Rear hatch removal help

Hey guys I know that this has been asked a few times, but one question that I have that hasn't been answered is when removing the hatch is there a main disconnect for the two wiring harnesses or do they have to be threaded out of the hatch. I'm repainting the car and to do it I'm removing the hatch. I know about the 4 torx screws and about needing a few guys to help with it as it's heavy. But i'm just curious about the wiring harnesses. Any advice?
