Youre still getting EWS interference, thats why your engine isnt starting. IEither defeat EWS or get a red label 413 DME and itll start right up.
does that go for the both of us, and if so where would the EWS interfence need to be stopped other that the one green wire on the x20 plug?

Thats a decent thread with info. But id just get a red label 413 and bypass all these issues with a silver label. Contact bloodrunsdry and see if he was able to use the m3 DME with a silver label in his ti. I think he did, but im not too sure if he just swapped out chips.

thanks guys. i have a few minor problems. the car wont run quite right. it seems to want to choke itself out. when the maf is unpluged it will idle, and when it is backwards it is drivable but wont take load or any sort of throttle input.

on a lesser inportance the front turn signols dont seem to work. i dont know if this is a common wiring issue or what.

also i have two unused plugs that hang from the harness an dfall under the car. they dont look like the m44's o2 sensor plugs, and the proper tranny plug is in the right place.

thanks in advance

What did you do with the Blue charcoal canister line that comes from the rear of the car? Did you plug it into the little valve and the opposite end of the valve into the underside of the throttle body?

Is your idle control valve plugged in completely and clean?

Are your brakes functioning properly, getting booster assist?

Any air leaks detected anywhere?

If your signals and flashers dont work, check the fuses and make sure theyre not blown and youre not missing one. Also make sure all your connections are good under the hood.

If you have a manual transmission harness, there shouldnt be anything left over and you may not have something plugged in. If its an automatic harness in a manual car, then youll have a few extra plugs left over that you dont need to do anything with because theyre for the automatic transmission.

no vacuum leaks that i can tell. the brakes work fine.
but you may be on to somthing with the charcoal canister. but that still leaves another plug. it doesnt look like a o2 plug but then again i havent found any other looms would be.. and the trans came out of the same car so unless it was a trans. conversion before i got it.

so i made sure that there were no vacume leaks and that the charcoal canister was correct, and it still chokes out with the maf pluged it. im still open header so i dont know if these engines have a problem with that. im thinking that the maf may be bad or the timing is way off.

Thats very bad. Dont run that engine with just open headers, youll damage the valves. You should also get an exhaust on there so the o2 sensor can give a proper reading. Is your MAF damaged and do you have it in correctly? The arrow should point going into the intake.

ya i know i dont want to float the valves. the maf isnt damaged and its in properly, im just confused why it runs when its unpluged and or backwards. as soon as its pluged in it chokes the car but when its unpluged it idles perfect. and im still unaware what the two plugs are for. what do the o2 plugs look like on this harness?

another question: am i able to delete the coolent lined that are attached to a temp sensor in front of the maf?
