Default New Here... Gonna be thankful for all the advice I can get!

Sweet Jesus! Found out that the on board stereo system is a nightmare... Does anybody know which good aftermarket speakers would be a nice swap to directly fit into the existing wiring/amp? I am looking to replace the front mids near the floor...

Default front speakers

i believe those are 5.25" which is a conventional speaker size, but if i remember correctly, the Ohms on the speaker are probably not consistent with a normal replacement. presuming you have the 10-speaker system but not the HK version, i am sure you can find OEM used for next to nothing. (i probably have a set laying around that you can have) But as soon as you begin to go aftermarket, you might as well redo the entire system. Of course if you look anywhere here or do even a basic search, you will find more info than you could ever want/need.

You are right. I went to an entire MB Quart system. Thanks for your advice.

Things are coming along rather nicely... but it's taking forever... Trim is now on, headliner is done, sunroof replaced, paint work finished, and stereo is complete... the only thing I need to do is replace all the control arms and front end stabilizing components except for the shocks and struts... and install Halos with HID ballasts... will post pics later
