Default hatch lock actuater

So i went to open my hatch trunk lid today and when i put the key in and turned to unlock it, i heard the normal unlocking soundsss (hatch and passenger door unlock).... but when i pushed the button in nothing happened... the hatch doesnt open... the normal resistence and click from the button are gone... when i push on it, it feels just like pushing on the button when locked (just pushes right in without releasing anything).... im sure it is common for these things to eventually die, but now how do i get my hatch open for the time being (emergency release maybe)... and how hard of a job is replacing this actuater???

hmm, i haven't heard of it not opening like that, but i do know that the actuator is an easy fix, it literally takes maybe 5 minutes to do. all you need is to remove the panel on the hatch, then undo like 2 pieces and it comes right out

Luckily for me this morning when i unlocked the hatch i gave the buttom a firm press and at the end of its input it felt like it was givin a lil feedback, so i shoved a lil further and voila!!!! Open sesame, i know i'm not crazy it def wasn't working yesterday so maybe it's on its way out, but hopefully not... thanks for your response

I think it's starting to go out, mine does the same thing except it gets stuck in the unlock position

The lock rod from the actuator is adjustable, My sons would get stuck in the locked position and sometimes relock the car. I adjusted the rod and now no problems at all. A little WD40 in there as well will keep it working good

Hey, I am having a similar problem. I turn the key and hear the lock moving and the locks for the front doors lock or unlock, but when I push the button, the door does not release. The way the button feels when I push it in is like the door is still locked. Tried lubricating the lock (the parts I can get to) and nothing happened. Does anyone know how to get at the actual lock mechanism and/or get the hatch cover off while the door is stuck shut? Everything I find to get the cover off requires the door to be open to work.
