Default Battery Relocation

Has anyone ever done this?
There are kits for sale, wires, platform and box included, but where to run the wires?

where are the kits? i'd run the wires through the firewall under the trip piece under the door and through the back to the rear passenger side.

Why would you want to relocate your battery? Seems like alot of work to move just a little weight to the back....

If you noticed, all E36 M3s batteries are located in the trunk. Also, after upgrading my shocks and springs, my car squats to the front a little more, adding weight to the front and I can feel the traction and handling difference.

I know, but I want my car to handle as well as......like we all aspire our 318tis to be.....right?
Anything helps, especially if it's cheap and simple modification.....right...?!

actually, it makes a good bit of difference in weight distribution, which is why it's in the trunk for most of the e36 series (not just the Ms). i'd like to do it to. i was looking at the realoem.com/bmw site for the e36 323ti (euro only) for the pieces since they had the battery in the trunk. i never did figure out the full cost of the pieces.

the weight of the battery from the center in the front versus how far it is from center in the rear makes a significant difference on front/rear weight distribution.

well, due to summer drinking any weight movement to the back of the car would probably help

This is kinda old, but has anyone relocated their battery? I'm thinking of possible moving it. One of the main reasons I want it in the back besides the weight distribution and actually buying a light weight battery aswell:

I am sick and tired of taking out the battery evey time I had to get to my ecu espescially when I had a problem with my tranny chip and had to remove it 5 times.

good choice on the hawker/odyessy battery. I am currently running the 925cca one, been in two cars and is almost 3 years old, not a single problem (and one of those cars was totalled too)

I have thought about the relocation too, my battery MIGHT just fit into the space offered by the pasenger side bin.
