Your front subframe setup scares the living hell out of me.

Yeah, it looks pretty scary, but the welds are top notch and the steel is strong....its actually more rigid and stronger than stock From what I gather. I'm worried about the height of the steering rack which is why I am going with the pita e46 m3 18s...just to get that extra little bit of clearance for the rack and crossmember. We are gonna have to figure out some kind of plate to protect it either way.

As a certified master alignment technician, i will say that rack is not secure in there. Any high speed or constant maneuvering is going to twist the brackets of the rack, constantly changing toe as well as stress the brackets. There is also the fact of frontal wheel impact, it will constantly pull the rack towards the underside of the vehicle, further stressing those little brackets. You need to have more than two tabs to take care of other forces, not just sitting it stationary. I also hope like hell your caster and camber come anywhere near spec or into a feasible spec for proper and safe handling. All in all, imo, youve over modified the stock cross member in a negative affect. Best of luck with it though.

I have the bavauto front camber kit. So you suggest more support on the rack? That is doable, And this seemed like the best option considering the project. Thanks for the input, ill get my fabricator on it next week, see if he can't figure something out

Well, look at your suspension from the front of the car, the tie rods are supposed to be parallel in comparison to the control arms for proper suspension travel and bump steer. As for securing the rack, you should have gussets that prevent (x) factors in torsion bending etc. Also, if youre building/modifying the front rack mounting point, put the engine in, suspension, etc, then hang the rack in correlation so you have the uttmost proper alignment while rolling. I highly recommend an x-brace underneath the car as well as a strut brace, as you have removed/altered the chassis' original strong point for twisting. You will eventually twist the strut towers, the strut bar will help alleviate this issue. The xbrace underneath will further tie the subframe to the chassis itself and reduce twisting forces.

blue in the above pic the tie rods appear parallel to the control arms? maybe if the rack came up half an inch it would create a downward angle on the tie rods, making the tie rods "perfectly parallel" to the control arms.

but i do agree with adding additional support to the rack. the x-brace and strut tower brace are definitely good ideas too.

ran into a bit of a problem.....i need an adjustable intermediate steering shaft about 18 inches long....been looking for this for months. i believe a 91-93 dodge dakota shaft would serve the purpose, but i cant find one....anybody got any hookups or way of finding this part?

also im probably not going to do this, but how cool would it be to be able to start your car with one of these bad boys?

These were on Pawn Stars way back. Well not those exact keys as the listing says they're replicas. But either way, they're not nuclear launch keys or ICBM keys. They're Russian spacecraft launch keys(according to the expert): http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xcm...art_shortfilms
