Does anyone know (or have some lying around) the plastic stand-off brackets that are glued to the door cards? I need to do the JB Weld trick to fix mine and I noticed that I am missing a few. If anyone has a 318ti that they are parting out and the drivers side door is trashed, I would be interested in scoring the black plastic stand-off brackets. I don't think you can buy them separate from the door panels / cards them selves. Thanks! ~Mike R~ Hwy1Strat | | | 05-18-2010, 07:00 PM | #2 | Member Join Date: Jul 2009 Location: Novi, MI Posts: 46 | Hey, anyone know where I can get a door panel (drivers side or passenger side, doesn't matter which color or condition as long as the brackets are all there)? I called Bav Recycling and they want stupid money for a pretty beat up used door panel (like almost $200+ shipping). I just need to get the stand-off / brackets off the panel. They are the same for either side. My interior panels are in great shape, I just need to get the stupid brackets so I can fix my drivers side door panel. I wish BMW had them as seperate part numbers. Aparently they have been made from Unobtainium. ;-) ~Mike R~ __________________ Mike R ~Hwy1Strat~ Novi, MI 1997 e36 BMW 318ti Style 44 Wheels "You can never own too many guitars!" Then put door panels in the search box and the clips you're looking for should pop up! Good luck! On the back of the card, there are black plastic stand-off brackets that the clips attach to. I am missing some of these. These do not have a part number that is separate from the door panel it's self. Thanks for the help through! I think I have found a solution. ~Mike R~ __________________ Mike R ~Hwy1Strat~ Novi, MI 1997 e36 BMW 318ti Style 44 Wheels "You can never own too many guitars!" Any junk yards near you? I might be able to check out my local yard but I won't make it there until next weekend... __________________ | | | 07-27-2011, 03:36 AM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | they aren't available separately any where unfortunately, if you need them you'll have to either buy a complete door panel from the dealer or private seller or swipe them off a junkyard car, but they're ti-specific so you may not be able to find them | | | 08-05-2011, 10:10 PM | #7 | Junior Member Join Date: Nov 2009 Location: New York City Posts: 11 | I have the same problem. You said discovered something can u please enlighten my. Thanks | | | 09-16-2011, 01:46 AM | #8 | Junior Member Join Date: Jun 2010 Location: Georgetown, MA Posts: 20 | Mine are broken too... I'm needing to replace at least the #10 plastic pylon/bracket/thingamajigger. I know someone somewhere on the forum not too long ago mentioned something about having some extras or spares they were willing to sell. It was within the last year or two. I too would like to know what anyone has come up with as a solution besides using the actual plastic pieces as replacements. I've thought of fashioning small wooden blocks, drilling a hole in one end for the plastic fastener and gluing the other end to the cardboard. Wood isn't the best solution, but there are very few junk yards around me and they typically only have cars that 5 years old (10 if I'm lucky). All of them said they rarely see and don't keep cars from the 1990s. Any help here would be greatly appreciated. | | | 09-23-2011, 06:11 AM | #9 | Junior Member Join Date: Apr 2011 Location: York, PA Posts: 15 | It would be nice if someone reproduced them or came up with a new system. I am missing 2 or 3 of them myself. | | | 09-23-2011, 12:09 PM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2005 Location: Louisiana Posts: 1,093 | yall are lucky to be missing 2 or 3 my driver door only has 2 !!!! __________________ was the 1 an only Bagged Ti on 19's!! | | | 09-23-2011, 03:27 PM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2010 Location: Scranton/Wilkes-barre area PA Posts: 454 | lol my door panels is held on with screws... makes fixing the window easier __________________ ***Derek*** ^^Lola^^ Pioneer radio/ Pioneer 6-Disk CD Changer/ JBL 601.1 Grand Touring Amplifier/ Bilstein Sport shocks/ Bilstein e36sedan springs/ Green LED Courtesy Lights Accident Counter: 3... | | | 09-23-2011, 09:44 PM | #12 | Junior Member Join Date: Sep 2011 Location: Atlanta, GA Posts: 29 | I noticed the same problem and have researched everywhere and tried contacting several dealers and no luck. You cannot find this piece for sale anywhere, your only luck is junkyards or part outs. So I want to ask everyone if they are interested in a "Group Buy" as I have a very close friend who has a special machine to replicate these parts, they not exactly like the OEM as they are patent but they do the same function. It would be a pack of 10 for each door for around $35.00 , here's the thing about the "group buy" the more people interested the cheaper. -Andres | | | 09-23-2011, 11:30 PM | #13 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | that would be awesome, I'm fortunate enough to have all of mine but I'm sure a lot of people on here would be interested in those | | | 09-24-2011, 12:00 AM | #14 | Junior Member Join Date: Sep 2011 Location: Atlanta, GA Posts: 29 | ^ Kool, I had my 318 for about a year now and I recently ran into this problem, I wanna see how many people out there are in need of this part so we can get this going. -Andres | | | 09-24-2011, 02:23 AM | #15 | Member Join Date: Jan 2009 Location: Fairfax, California Posts: 48 | Count me in Quote: Originally Posted by VR-Coupe ^ Kool, I had my 318 for about a year now and I recently ran into this problem, I wanna see how many people out there are in need of this part so we can get this going. -Andres | I'm going to needing a few in the near future, so I'd be happy to join up... | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
