You would think since the automatics are actually a higher gear ratio when in 4th over it would get about the same as a 5 speed. I constantly hear people telling me with their 5 speeds they get around 30. So you got a chip? Man, driving all the way to Santa Barbara I would have had a whole bag of chips.... I wonder if a chip would help out with mileage on my automatic. I always heard it makes the car run a little richer, so I don't think so. Yours probably works because of your other mods. I won't be able to install the relay until next week, but I plan to post up the results. | | | 07-13-2012, 02:22 AM | #2559 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2009 Location: Ft Defiance, AZ Posts: 686 | got this baby all set and ready to go in when the bushings get here tomorrow should be motor mounts and teaching my friend to drive stick __________________ 1999 BMW 318ti 2005 MINI Cooper S | | | 07-13-2012, 04:01 AM | #2560 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2011 Location: Michigan Posts: 183 | That looks really good now. | | | 07-13-2012, 04:16 AM | #2561 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2009 Location: Ft Defiance, AZ Posts: 686 | thanks, ill get a nice pic of it installed once the right bushings get here __________________ 1999 BMW 318ti 2005 MINI Cooper S | | | 07-14-2012, 06:07 AM | #2562 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2009 Location: Ft Defiance, AZ Posts: 686 | got the new motor and transmission mounts in, motor mounts were a complete PITA but the transmission mounts were simple. Made a huge difference in the dynamics of the car but theres still a little thump or something with hard acceleration, any ideas? __________________ 1999 BMW 318ti 2005 MINI Cooper S | | | 07-14-2012, 06:52 AM | #2563 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2007 Location: SW Florida Posts: 4,275 | Quote: Originally Posted by teen ti got this baby all set and ready to go in when the bushings get here tomorrow should be motor mounts and teaching my friend to drive stick | Well done...now it should fit those new polyurethane bushings and look good at the same time. __________________ Sean 1995 Active | | | 07-14-2012, 01:13 PM | #2564 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | Quote: Originally Posted by teen ti got the new motor and transmission mounts in, motor mounts were a complete PITA but the transmission mounts were simple. That was after suspecting the center load bearing. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 07-14-2012, 04:22 PM | #2565 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2009 Location: Ft Defiance, AZ Posts: 686 | Quote: Originally Posted by teetime4one Well done...now it should fit those new polyurethane bushings and look good at the same time. | Thanks!
