I know my 95 has solid rotors...will these work? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...MakeTrack=true thanks- josh __________________ [SIGPIC][/SIGPIC] | | | 02-06-2007, 06:06 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | Even Brembo's website is wrong when it comes to the ti. 1995-1999 is just plain wrong. If anything it should be 1995- 4/98 or 4/98-99. So to answer your question, probably not. You need solid blanks. Those are probably vented. Edit: But 35143 only comes up for the ti. If it was vented it would also come up fitting a 328. So maybe they are solid? Boy they're cheap. I pay more than that for my 328 stock rotors. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 02-06-2007, 06:14 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2004 Location: Northern Michigan Posts: 867 | that's what I thought- they look vented...seems like a decent deal though no? (i know I can search but...) would newer calipers bolt right on allowing for the vented rotors? .....digging..digging... __________________ [SIGPIC][/SIGPIC] | | | 02-06-2007, 06:21 AM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | Quote: Originally Posted by marleymon that's what I thought- they look vented...seems like a decent deal though no? But you need a new carrier bracket too. Or you can go the E46 330 route. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 02-06-2007, 06:26 AM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2004 Location: Northern Michigan Posts: 867 | ...sorry to keep this going, I shoulda been more specific..... 96ti's and up have vented rotors right? So would the 96 caliper bolt on to a 95 allowing for these to fit? seems like they'd work....I know about the 325/28's. __________________ [SIGPIC][/SIGPIC] | | | 02-06-2007, 12:11 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | Quote: Originally Posted by marleymon ...sorry to keep this going, I shoulda been more specific..... 96ti's and up have vented rotors right? But it's not only the caliper, it also needs the carrier bracket. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 02-06-2007, 07:28 PM | #7 | Member Join Date: Jan 2007 Location: Fort Riley, KS <-> Haverhill, MA Posts: 91 | I was under the impression that they made the switch to vented rotors in 98. 3/98 was solid and 4/98 was vented. I know at Bav Auto thats when the make the switch when lookin at brakes. Correct me if Im wrong, which I probably am. __________________ | | | 02-06-2007, 07:33 PM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | Quote: Originally Posted by crewdog153 I was under the impression that they made the switch to vented rotors in 98. 3/98 was solid and 4/98 was vented. I don't know what I was thinking, __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 02-08-2007, 03:25 AM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2004 Location: Northern Michigan Posts: 867 | Ok- I just got a reply- Brembo says they are solid and are for the 95. The shipping calculator is wrong - he quoted me $25 shipped to MI. $80 seems like a good deal. I can't get solid up here for less than $55 a side. Plus these are Brembos....I think I'm try them out. They have either slotted, drilled. Any opinions on which are better for the street? Are the drilled noisy? (keep in mind these are factory brembo- not cheapos drilled by supplier) __________________ [SIGPIC][/SIGPIC] | | | 02-08-2007, 03:31 AM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | Well, I have no experience with either but if I had to choose I'd get slotted over drilled. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 02-08-2007, 03:37 AM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2004 Location: atlanta Posts: 145 | Yeah, I agree. Those are the solid units specifically for the 1.8 and 1.9l models like ours. I have ATE power rotors, but have considered picking up a pair of these Brembo to hold back for later at this price (they also have the brembo slotted also for the same price in their eBay store). The ATE's work great, but have been discontinued because they now use the power rotor design on the big brake upgrade kit exclusively (I think). Plus, the ATE 5 star grooved design sits nicely behind the 5 spoke wheels so its not flashy looking (you can actually barely see the grooved design). | | | 02-08-2007, 05:32 AM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: maritimes Posts: 1,433 | good find. I may pick up a set soon as my brakes are beaten. __________________ 11/97 Base 328Ti | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
