Is this a good price for a 1995? Need help.

Hi all, newbie here and would appreciate some advice.

My son is eyeing a 1995 318ti. The ad says: clubsport M3 TI package. It has 110,000 miles and the asking price is $5900. I'm assuming it's in good condition and plan to look at it this Friday.

I've tried searching for pricing but haven't had good luck. I have some learning to do since I don't know what some of the terminology means (e.g., active).

from what i kno it isnt much basically mtec door trim, M3 mirrors, M3 bumpers and dats all i can think of. I have a base model so your lucky if you get a sports model as long as there aint nothing wrong wit it

The buying guide didn't have much info on differences between models. i have learned the clubsport was only made in 1995, but not what makes it so different. I'll search the threads. thanks for the info, el. hope your car's been reliable.

A true Club Sport was only produced in 1995, and has...

• a red or black exterior
• black leather with red cloth inserts for the interior (aka Millpoint Red)
• "Round Spoke Style 18" rims
• the M Tech styling items (bumper, wing mirrors, lower side mouldings and rear bumper)
• an M42 engine
• a Limited Slip Differential (LSD)

... and probably a few more things I'm forgetting.

If you can post a few photos, or even the VIN, we can be of more help.

No ti or e36 ever came with 18" rims. THe clubsport has the 5 spoke 16" and also has sport suspension and the M-tech rear spoiler.

i'm thinking NO for this price.
i have a 95 active i'll sell you for $4,500.00 if you want one of these cars that bad.
that is too much.
just my opinion...which means nothing.

I say it isnt if its a club sport and anyway isnt that a little 2 high from wat u actually paid 4 your Ti and wat your asking haha

what i paid for my car and what someone would have to offer me to get me off of it are irrelevant. i just threw a number out there....that is exactly what the seller of this 1995 club sport did. $5,900.00? come on dave!
you and i both know that is 1-2K too much for this car.
but what do i know?

P.S. after looking at the photos....i'd say it's worth $4900...and that's firm

haha i know wat you mean i was just messing but if you are right with wat ur saying then i must be an idiot cuz i paid 4500 for a base model Ti but who cares i know if i wanted 2 sell it i know people who are willing 2 buy my car for 5k but i dont fell like selling it maybe later but not now so yea

after looking at the price again i thought it said 5300 so never mind 5900 is a little high i gotta stop skimming thru the posts haha

i have had a dozen people at my work pokin' around my car.
my boss told some dude $4750 one day and the dude whipped out his check book.
i know that it is a sale that is "in the eye of the beholder"...but in reality these cars aren't worth that much.
just stating the facts here.
FYI...my boss was embarrassed when he found out that he couldn't make a few hundred bucks selling this dude my car WHEN IT WASN'T FOR SALE. and besides...that was the best $900.00 i'd ever spent!

That's helpful, thanks. In fact, as noted above the 'clean' retail price for this car is $4775. But you tell me - what young man doesn't buy an overpriced car or two because he falls in love with it.
