Recently my 99 ti has been having some issues only when I start it cold, run it for a short time (less than a couple of minutes) turn it off and then try to start it again. It turns over briefly then the starter just spins out. If I try again it turns over maybe one complete rev and then the starter spins out again. When it finally starts it runs fine, nothing abnormal. Its almost as if the starter solenoid is disengaging before the engine starts. Since the beginning of the year I have changed the air temp sensor, camshaft sensor, water temp sensor, all vacuum lines, intake boots, and put in a brand new CoP set up with all new parts. There are no engine codes. Fuel pressure is normal, new fuel filter last oil change, and injectors looked clean when I had the intake off. I run Amsoil PI half a bottle per tank normally, and 5-30 amsoil at 5K intervals. It starts cold the first time no problem, when its warm it starts no problem and runs quite well. It only happens if I start it cold and then shut it off a short time later, when warm it starts all the time, every time. When it happens cold and I need it to start, it can take as many as 30 attempts to get it started, or if I walk away an come back 15 minutes later it starts right up... It's maddening
I am leaning toward the starter solenoid but want a second opinion. Shooting in the dark here...
