U want to hook an amp up to the stock speakers? Or a powered bazooka tube? You can hook a powered bazooka to your stere and it would be just dumb to hook an amp up to the stock speakers.

Actually hooking up an amp to stock speakers can work quite well for a budget system.

The best upgrade for any system, regardless of cost, is to upgrade the weakest part. The weakest part in all OEM systems is the amp inside the headunit. Then it is usually the headunit, and then the speakers.

I dont know anything about the tube, if it connects via a high level input then you might be able to take a split from one of the rear speakers.

I would tap into the speaker wires going to the kick panel woofers.

The stock amp has a crossover, so your sound is gonna get weird if you go into the rear mid/tweeters.

No the rear speakers, which I'm replacing with some nifty boston acoustics 4.5" woofers.

Talking sub

I installed an 8" powered bazooka last week. I wired it to the battery through a grommet behind the carpet under the clutch pedal. I ran power and a remote turn on down the driver side, and rca's down the passenger side. You can pull the molding off, and tuck it under the carpet.
I have had for some time, 2 Pioneer 6x9's in the rear shelf. I did come across a dead kicker speaker.
Overall- the powered tube is nice. I still have a little room back there, and it sounds great, especially for using the rca's. I didn't need/want a heart shaker...this thing can thump good enough...

I even bought an extra (both on ebay for $50 each) for the old hoopty.

I installed an 8 inch bazooka in the back of my TI, but I found the easiest way to do it was to wire directly to the pre-amp wires under the back left panel of the trunk (the one you get to by removing the taillights and the carpeted section on the left). This way you don't have to run wires through the car to the battery. You can tap into the back speaker leads and use the existing power wires. The remote turn on can be wired into the antena wire (white). The system deffinatly had a decent amount more bass and it took up very little room in the trunk.
