Where was the penny?
Sounds like something is shorted.

In the lighter socket? It probably blew the fuse.

Hopefully it blew a fuse rather than cause a short somewhere else. Does everything else work? My lighter kept popping out too early before it even got hot enough to light a cigarette. It would jump out of the socket and fall onto the floorboard, almost caused me to wreck the first time it happened. Anyway, I tried to use a pencil to bend the tabs in. BAD idea, the pencil started smoking(not cigarettes, it caught on fire).

thanks for that..

you know i took my car in for a service a couple of weeks ago, when it came out the engine light was on, and it was the cam shaft sensors, so they fixed that and when it came out another light was on indicating a fault in the gearbox, this something to do with torque control now, and the car is being stupid, then this happened, and now the left side light isnt working, but its not the bulb.... gonna get the gear box fixed this week....

whyyy ohhh whyyy!?!?

The english have been using the term penny for their coinage longer than the US has been a country, something like 750AD...

well,, my family get all their cars done there, weve never had a problem before, for me it seems to be a strange coincidence or maybe they are doing something wrong without realising... i dont know..... i should take it to bmw so they give it to engineers that know it inside out, but who knows, that costs a bomb and those problems may have been inevitable..

yeah we have 1p and 2p coins in england..
