Default Halo Rings Not Working

When I turn on my headlights the passenger side halo rings don't turn on. The headlight turns on just fine. The angel rings and headlight on the driver side turn on just fine. Could it be the halo's are burnt out?

It doesn't need park distance control, and hates decadence. It is musclepacked, yet lightly wound. It lets you feel the asphalt and get you going with the smallest touch of the pedal. It provokes, seduces, and demands to be driven hard. It looks, sounds, and smells like performance.

no dude. the transformer is out. it happened to mine before.
you could get another one from DDM in like a day or two. but not sure how much he wants for them.
it might be under warranty still.
where did you get them from?

its a lil white or black box thing. its like an ignitor i think.
trust me. its that, what im talking about. call them up about it. see if its under warranty. cuz when i mentioned it to DDM when harold, bobby and I went down to San Diego the owner gave them to me for free cuz understeer probably ordered it thru them for us. its like 2 cents for him anyway.

Hugo, before you replace it, try swapping the right ballast with the left one. If the problem moves to the opposite side, you know it's a bad ballast, if it doesn't, then you have either dead rings or faulty wiring. The fact that both of the passenger rings went out at the same time would lead me to believe that it's either a bad ballast or the wiring came loose. Check all of the spliced wires on the passenger side, wiggle them around, maybe re-twist them. Also, since you purchased yours from understeer, the ballasts might not be "inside" of the headlight housing. Just look for a little black rectangular box with two white wires coming out of each end of it. It should be spliced into your corner light wiring.

FWIW, don't listen to Marv, he doesn't know what he's talking about They're not caller transformers, they're called ballasts or ignitors

Just make sure you're grounded first

Well if its a bad ballast why would the headlight still work.

Because the HID headlights use a separate ballast. HID ballasts have a metal housing while the angel eye ballasts are plastic. Take a look, you'll see what I mean. You'll see a thick wire coming out of the back of the headlight. It will be plugged into the HID ballast(metal), leave it alone. Then look at the wires coming out of your corner light. There should be a white wire spliced into the factory corner light wiring. Follow that tiny wire and it will lead you to the angel eye ballast(plastic box).

So just one of mine on the drivers side went out. the other one on the drivers side works. Bad halo or ballast? there aren't two ballasts are there? Sorry about the thread jack, but i figured its better than starting a completely new thread to find a solution to the same problem.

Probably a dead ring, but try playing with the wires, sometimes they don't work in the cold.
