Default Sort of inspection panel

I'm putting my car on a diet and was getting all that tar stuff out and this come up with it the cover is where the back seat would be, I looked on real oem and could not find it.

No nothing a couple of lads a work reckon it's there from when bmw had it on the assembly line or something, exactly the same on the other side I'll take better pictures tomorrow. Was going to take it to bmw and see what they say but it's a job for during the week that.

Think I'm just going to cut it out and weld in a square section of plate. I haven't taken the tar stuff off the other side yet was going to do it today but went with my mate to get an old series 2 ford escort rs turbo. My car looks like a monster truck compared to it I'll post a picture tomorrow
