I am thinking about putting it up for sale to focus on grad school bills even though I have only had it for a little over a year. I've had to put the drv window back in the track a few times and have changed the coolant and oil but other than that havent touched a thing. Car is in awesome condition, not sport package but has Traction control, ASC cruise etc. Is there any interested in Cali tops out there? Car is in MN. | | | 06-15-2007, 11:38 PM | #2 | Member Join Date: Jan 2007 Location: Tampa FL Posts: 84 | Interested PM me. Sounds like a nice ti combo. | | | 06-17-2007, 10:29 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2005 Location: Pismo Beach, CA Posts: 500 | one just sold off of craigslist.org here in socal for $6k. I paid almost twice that last year and went all the way to Denver for the car, I knew I paid top dollar as it was exactly what I wanted but I didnt expect it to depreciate that fast. | | | 06-18-2007, 06:01 PM | #6 | Member Join Date: Jan 2007 Location: SW Michigan Posts: 90 | Is that about all these cars are worth these days? Look at this way: If you got what you really wanted, enjoy driving the car, and keep for an extended period, the depreciation curve will come around and provide you with a more than acceptible total cost of ownership. With the '98 M-Sport I bought in January, I plan to do just that. _Rick | | | 06-18-2007, 07:35 PM | #7 | Junior Member Join Date: Jun 2007 Location: Chicago IL Posts: 13 | intrested. Pictures? (Figured it was about $1K higher than average but "rationalized" it for the rare California top). It is in excellent condition (body) except that rear deck lid is faded. Mechanical: good but will be needing suspension refresh, has the traditional head gasket seep. Overall, I'm happy with it. | | | 06-19-2007, 10:59 PM | #9 | Junior Member Join Date: May 2006 Location: Saint Paul Posts: 18 | Good to know thanks. Mine is immaculate, has had nothing done to it even really for maintanance accept the regular oil changes and I made sure it had fresh coolant. I am the 2nd owner, I bought it from a Commercial Pilot in denver who had moved from Seattle, which is where the car spent most its life. She rarely drove it, her commuter car to the airport was a really unfortunate Geo Storm, which ironically was parked righ behind her husbands late model porsche 911 and she had an Explorer for the winter. Anyhow I paid far too much for it (11.5 last year with 38K), which is why I think a fair sale price wont even get me out from under my loan and I dont want to be that guy who overvalues what they have. Thankfully I just sold my 93 volvo 240 which I kept around for the winter after 3 weeks on the market, so I am not in panic mode anymore about getting a car out of my driveway and think I will stick with it for the time being as I do absolutely love it. I do appreciate everyone's input and time | | | 06-20-2007, 01:50 AM | #10 | Junior Member Join Date: Jun 2007 Location: Chicago IL Posts: 13 | hey, i got a volvo 242 turbo.
