Well everyone, economy has caused me to sell my 2006 330i Sport and now I only have my trusty 318ti. This has been primarily my commuting car and haven't done any upgrades. I will be installing a new stereo, and possibly speakers, but not quite sure. I am missing the sport suspension and acceleration of my 330i and am wondering what I can do, within reason to increase the driving pleasure of the ti. It is a great driving car, but I would like a bit more handling and acceleration. It is my daily driver, so nothing radical, I was thinking simply putting lower profile tires and bigger wheels would sport it up a bit. I really cant afford to changes the whole suspension or even replace the springs/struts. The car is a base model with manual trans. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.... oh and I would really love an armrest, is it a part that can still be ordered? Thanks all! | | | 10-19-2009, 09:11 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2007 Location: LA, Bellflower, CA Posts: 3,613 | the oem arm rest is still available at the dealer. not cheap though. x-brace is a good thing to get. other than that maybe a chip/reflash, low key exhaust, and updated engine related parts would probably be best for the ti. not much can be had with the M42/4's without the DASC or swap. __________________ -Theta Chi- Float like a cadilac, sting like a BIMMER .... my socket is just too thick and won't fit in the hole! damnit! All the ones I have seen seem pricey, but I haven't searched too hard. Is the Xbrace something I can install myself? Is it bolt on? Do I only have to get under the car with a lift, or does it require additional tools? Thanks again.
