So the uptick is rather annoying, and I know it can blind other drivers. Instead of doing a retrofit, do you think it's possible with the right tools to clip the uptick off inside the projector? With precise measurements of course. Then it would be just like a regular old projector like the ones people retrofit right?

I actually prefer the E-code beam pattern to the DOT beam pattern- if they're adjusted correctly, you shouldn't be blinding oncoming drivers on low beam. When I had them, I found that the only time I would blind drivers was on right turns or turning into driveways and even then, it was only momentarily. I like the fact that the uptick better illuminates road signs on the right side; pedestrians; cyclists; etc.
