Default Cooling fan consensus?

It's so nice to see parts go off the shelf back into the car. Reminder, 95 318ti getting an M52 with OBDI conversion.

I can:

A. Install mechanical fan by itself. I don't like the concept of mechanical only given the weather in FL and the use of AC.

2. Run mechanical and try to add an appropriate pusher / booster that would run off the existing 318ti two speed fan relays and temp sensor.

3. Pull the mechanical and run a SPAL puller only. Probably would be a fixed speed and would just run it off the existing TI wiring.

Thoughts?

Thanks!

We don't get nearly as hot/humid here on the CA Central Coast, but I removed the mechanical fan set-up and the car has never heat up -- even when traveling inland (>100 degrees), A/C running and pulling Sierra foothills mountain grades. But I've never had to deal with stop-n-go traffic in very high heat. I used the dual-temp fan sensor from the 318ti installed in the 6-cylinder swapped radiator, added one bottle of Redline Water Wetter, and the electric A/C fan kicks on like it should without any problems. In fact, the temp gauge needle doesn't even move. There are a bunch of "fan delete" threads on the BimmerForum site. Good luck!

I still have my mechanical fan on my M52.
What are going to do with the M42 airbox?

My '95ti didn't have a pusher booster fan, it just had the 2 speed electric puller. For now, I've decided to just go with the stock M52 mechanical set-up, and see how that works. I can always add a pusher electric booster next summer when it warms up if need be.
