Default Black projectors

Hi everyone, im new to the forum.
I dont know if anyone can help me, i have a 316i compact and would like to fit black projector headlights to mach my indicators. The problem is that projector lights for the compact apparently have different connectors to other E36's, and projector headlights for the compact are so expensive.
Does anyone know if it is a big problem to fit normal E36 lights to my compact and if so how easy is it?
Please e-mail me at 'fatboyping@hotmail.co.uk'
Cheers.

they do look different, but only marginally so. (EDIT: left is 316i, right is 323is)

what type of bulb is your dipped / high beam? it may just be the connector, which can be changed (since it's all 12v anyway).

i'd also check your regulations, i think that any ECE lamp is okay as long as it's aimed right, but i could be wrong.
