Clay are you thinking of getting this turbo? | | | 11-12-2007, 08:51 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2007 Location: Eugene Oregon Posts: 6,182 | i think most 4 bangers can handle a turbo. main worry is usually head gasket and it all depends on how much boost your trying to push | | | 11-12-2007, 08:58 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2006 Location: Greece Athens Posts: 302 | BMW 4 pots can handle big boost if properly tuned. That one is running 1.3 bar on stock internals with no problem. __________________ Alpina front lip spoiler,ACS roof spoiler,OEM clear rear-side lights,In-Pro blackchrome front indicators,Lummar tinted glasses,318ti.org decalls,Eibach Sportline 45mm/30mm springs,Bilstein Sprint shocks,16mm rear sway bar, front eccentric wishbone bushes,E46 conv. And the supercharger tune isn't the same as a turbo tune. Last I heard NickG isn't doing custom tunes anymore, so I don't think that's an option. Unfortunately you need to find someone to tune the DME FIRST, and then work with them to develop the right hardware AROUND the tune. Tuning is by far the MOST important part of a FI setup. For some reason everyone just seems to ignore the fact that there are only 3 people in North American that can actually tune an ODBII BMW DME with any amount of accuracy. __________________ '99 Dinan M3 | | | 11-13-2007, 02:53 PM | #14 | NOBODY F's with the Jesus Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ventura California Posts: 7,824 | Quote: Originally Posted by DustenT Not in the long run.
