Default belts

i replaced my belts and my ac belt squeals when i turn on my ac. i mean this is a bitch of a squeal, really embarrassing. I tightened it and it didnt help, at one point it was so tight the belt just stop turning. Am i missing this obvious turn off squeal button?

The tensioner is probably shot.

First off, make sure you have the belt routed correctly. Yeah, I know it's one of those "well, duh!" kinds of things, but if a new belt squeaks where an old one didn't it needs to be verified. Always best to find the simple fix first.

If it's on right and still squeaking, Dave is most likely right. The spring loaded tensioner is not doing it's job.

i took a video of my belts with the a/c on. and you can see when i turn on the car and rev it a little it starts to squeal. i think the belts are on there right because the a/c gets cold.

if it is the tensioner, do i just find out which one is making noise and replace it?

Default I'm about to replace my belts too...

How can you tell if your belt is in the spec (tightness). or you just go by what you feel.???
