Default Water Pump

1996 318Ti with 156Km
Ahhhgh another queak and it seems to be the water pump, my investigations show that the after market pumps are preffered. Any preferences on the make, as i see many different makes and prices? (i.e. Airtex, Graf, Beck Arnley, Geba etc)

If you have changed the water pump, what make did you use and would you reccomend it?

Is there anything else that i would want to change while i am doing this as a preventative measure? (i have changed thermostat already).

tx for your advice and input

when renewing the pump, find a pump with a cast/metal impellar. The OE pump you remove will have a hard plastic impellar.
They can be a bear to remove. Take the pulley off and shoot a little Pb Blaster around the seal. You basically just remove the bolts and then carefully thread the removed bolts into the -back out- pilot holes, 2 of them. One may be hard to get the bolt threaded in there due to the housing of the pump being in the way. If threaded back in evenly, the pump should pop and start backing off the block.

So really, no need for a special pump. Just get the newer version.

Hepu, only Hepu with metal impellar. It's fitted as OEM.
