There was a recall on them a few years back,i had mine replaced in 02. I'd contact the dealership. __________________ 98 Avus Blue 318 ti Active clear outs all around, stealth turning signals, blue led interior lights, 35% tinted windows,K&N air filter, 12" Kenwood Sub, MTX Thunder Amp,Alpine cd changer, Leatherz Armrest,ACS Pedals/Handbrake/FloorMats & Vitesse Tuning Carbon Fiber B-Pillars/CF Spark Plug Cover, New 16" MSW Typer 14 Rims on Goodyear Triple Treds www.myspace.com/avusblueti | | | 06-17-2006, 03:06 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2005 Location: Asheville NC Posts: 669 | not all of them were covered. Neither of my 98's were, but it's worth a check. Call the dealer with the vin # handy and they'll let you know if you qualify. | | | 06-17-2006, 03:14 PM | #4 | Member Join Date: Jul 2004 Location: Columbus, Ohio Posts: 78 | When my cataylic was replaced it applied to only the 98's, but it was an EPA recall that BMW had to honor. | | | 06-17-2006, 10:35 PM | #5 | Junior Member Join Date: Feb 2006 Location: Denver Posts: 27 | damn, good try guys, I called right away and they told me that there are no open recalls on the car. so I still need one!!! | | | 06-17-2006, 10:48 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: PA Posts: 822 | I purchased a replacement cat from Bavarian autosport. | | | 09-12-2007, 03:12 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2007 Location: Erie Pa Posts: 161 | how was the quality? did you install it yourself? | | | 09-18-2007, 05:46 AM | #8 | Junior Member Join Date: Feb 2007 Location: Yreka, CA Posts: 14 | I've got one out of a 94' M42 powered 318i auto with 68,000 miles on it. I am unsure of fitment, but it is in nice shape, the bottom has some scratches on it. I have no idea if it would fit your ti, but it is yours for $90 + shipping. | | | 09-18-2007, 01:59 PM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2007 Location: Erie Pa Posts: 161 | does anyone know if this will fit a ti?? if so im interested. | | | 09-18-2007, 02:48 PM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: Malvern, PA Posts: 373 | i had mine replaced. bought one off of autopartswarehouse.com (it was direct fit, and only 300$). the local bmw/mini specialty shop sort of gave me **** for it, but i have no problems yet, and a 5 year warranty card. i also was recommended to replace the O2 sensors with it, just fyi. all in all, after next day shipping, it costs about 600 for the parts and I had a friend install it at his shop for 80$. hope this helps. __________________ 1997 TI Sport, Silver | | | 09-18-2007, 02:50 PM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Saint Paul, MN Posts: 3,244 | if bent workers cat fits it would only work on an OBD1 Ti (1995). __________________ My Former Rides 1999 318ti Alpine White, Cali Roof, Dinan goodies 1996 318ti Hellrot California Edition | | | 09-18-2007, 04:58 PM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2007 Location: Erie Pa Posts: 161 | 100% sure? looks like im in luck. | | | 09-18-2007, 06:20 PM | #13 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Saint Paul, MN Posts: 3,244 | verify the part numbers on realoem.com don't trust me. I said IF it fits a Ti, it would only fit the 1995's because they are OBD1 like the donor 318i. __________________ My Former Rides 1999 318ti Alpine White, Cali Roof, Dinan goodies 1996 318ti Hellrot California Edition | | | 09-18-2007, 08:00 PM | #14 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2007 Location: Erie Pa Posts: 161 | Bentworker can you get me the part number? | | | 09-18-2007, 09:33 PM | #15 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: Malvern, PA Posts: 373 | they arent the same, i just checked. the 1998 converter # is 18301435664 in case you need it later. __________________ 1997 TI Sport, Silver | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
